Object of the Game

At the beginning of the game, you will be presented with an encrypted quote. In this encryption, each letter of the alphabet is replaced with a different number. In every puzzle, a few of the letters have been provided to help start you out. Your goal is to decrypt the entire quote by figuring out which letters go with which numbers.
Rules / How to Play
  1. Select a puzzle from the Mad:)Minds list page.

  2. Useful tools to help you determine what letter is associated with a number:
    • If you want to see all of the cases where a given number is used, you can click in the text box above the number, and all the corresponding text boxes will be highlighted, like this:

    • Once a letter has been used, it will be grayed out in the alphabet located above the puzzle. For example, if you have already used the letters D, M, V and W, the alphabet would look like this:
      A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
    • If a letter has been used more than once, it will be highlighted in RED in the alphabet located above the puzzle. For example say you have used the letter M for both the number 22, and 17. The alphabet would look like this:

    • If desired, you can click the "Hint" button to have the computer provide a new letter, or correct an incorrectly assigned letter. (chosen at random)

  3. When you think you have figured out what letter is represented by a number, enter the letter into the text box above the number, and then click in another text box and the rest of the text boxes that are associated with that number willed be filled in with that letter.

  4. When you think you have solved the puzzle, click the "Guess" button.

  5. If you wish to restart, then just click the "Reset" button.
